Jaidyn's Dance Recital

Jaidyn absolutely loved getting ready for he dance recital. She was very excited to get makeup and her hair done. Honestly this was all very exciting for me also. Being our first recital I enjoyed the time we were spending together getting her ready!

She took lots of pictures before we left and really had fun doing it. Her poses were so cute! Dave took all the pictures and I think he really captures the moment!

These moments remind me what life is about and how beautiful moments can be. Thank you Jaidyn for being the most beautiful little girl and reminding me what the most important things in life are!

Can we say a special prayer for Great Grandma?

So last Monday May 18th, I was running around and very tired and had a lot to do, I was talking to Dave on the phone and my mom called in, I answered the line and started babbling to my mom about all of my problems I was having when my sister Kim clicked through on the other line and as soon as I saw it I realized my Grandma had died. This was my last Grandparent alive, she was 91 years old and lived a wonderful life.
We had decided to take the kids up north with us to the funeral. I wasn't sure what to tell Jaidyn or how she was going to react. She knows who Great Grandma is and has met her only a hand full of times because she lived so far north. So we sat Jaidyn down Wednesday evening after dinner and told her that Great Grandma had to go to heaven to be with Jesus and it was a happy thing for her but for us it would be sad and she said "can I go outside now?" Dave & I were laughing so hard, we of course told her she could go outside.

When we got the funeral home I had her take some books but as soon as we walked in the room she said to me:

"Momma, can we say a special prayer for Great Grandma?"

I was very surprised, she actually wanted to go up to the casket, kneel in front of it and say special prayers just like we do at church, it was so amazing. I felt that at three years old she really understood what was happening. She had taken all of the pieces and put them together, us going to church, Great Grandma going to heaven with Jesus and the idea that we should say prayers.
Truly amazing.

Lincoln is 7 Months Old!

I can't believe my boy is 7 months old already. It is insane how fast time goes. This little bundle of joy is the light of my life. He now weighs 18 lbs, he is really getting up there! He wants to move around so bad, he is really scooting- not quite crawling but it won't be long. He is also starting to make some sounds- I swear this kid is going to say "momma" first, I will keep trying! He still has no teeth! Jaidyn had her first tooth at 4 months!
He has been really sick the last week, some sort of virus, but let me tell you what a great kid he is- he has been throwing up for a week but still all you need to do is look at him and he gives you a big smile!
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby!

Happy Mother's Day!

On Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day. It was great. I got to sleep in until 9:25- I know isn't it great. Then when I came down stairs Jaidyn said "yeah Mommy can open her present's now- we got you a turtle and a butterfly" It was so cute, I loved it. Lincoln got me a turtle charm and Jaidyn got me a butterfly charm. Both kids even made me a gift from school with their handprints.

After we had breakfast we headed out. We went to the Saginaw Childrens Zoo. We had so much fun! Jaidyn couldn't believe how much fun we were having. We even got to go on a Train ride thru the zoo. It was really a nice day. I really enjoyed spending the day with my family.

It was such a beautiful day with my beautiful family, I couldn't have asked for a better day!

The Flowers!

Mother's Day is always a very hard time of year for me. Although we lost the twins almost 5 years ago, it always seems very fresh in the mind around Mother's Day. The due date with the twins always falls around this date, so it takes a big stab at my heart. It doesn't hurt as bad as it did that first Mother's Day but the feeling is still there.

Two days before Mother's Day I got the most beautiful flowers for one of the best friends I could ever have, Kim Bolinger. She truly helped make me feel better. I have said it a million times but I would be lost without her. Although I hate how we met I am a better person because I know her.
Thank you for always being there wonderful friend!
