15 Seconds

Today we went to see my nephew Marcus at his wrestling meet in Fenton at Fenton High School. It was really cool. I am so proud of him and enjoyed watching the meets. Marcus won first place! I was so excited I got to see him pin a kid in 15 seconds flat, man was he proud of himself and he should be.

It was so funny. I asked Jaidyn if she wanted to go to school there when she got bigger and she said "Mommy, I don't want to wrestle!" She did think it was very loud and stinky in the gym! I am glad we got to go and experience this with Marcus!
Congratulations! We are so proud!

Family Pictures

This past weekend we finally went and got pictures taken!!! Lincoln is 3 months old and Jaidyn is 3 years old so we thought it would be a good time to do them. I think they turned out great!!!

I was so stressed about doing these pictures, which seems so silly now. With Jaidyn we took pictures so often. By the time she was 3 months we had already done 2 sets of professional pictures, so I had all this pressure on myself that I needed to do the same with Lincoln, but it just didn't happen. One of my best friends lent me this great book called "I was a really good mom before I had kids" and if it wasn't for that book I would have probably lost my mind! So in the spirit of the book I decided I needed to quit putting so much pressure on myself and just enjoy the moment of the pictures!!!

So when I finally decided to let go of the moment and let the pictures just happen, here is what we ended up with!!! Some wonderful pictures of my complete family!!!!

Moments of Pause Blog

Well Laura did it again! She created another great blog. This time I think everyone should take a moment and read it:
http://momentsofpause.blogspot.com
This blog is truly amazing. Every single word that she says and she writes is beautiful. I have never heard someone else say the words that I have always feared to say or wanted to say but wasn't sure how to say them.
I am very grateful to have such a wonderful friend that really knows how to express herself!
So take a Moment and Pause- I promise you will not regret it!

Porter Cojei

Welcome Porter Puppy Cojei!
We had such a wonderful day helping Kimmy picking out her new puppy. Jaidyn thought it was so fun. She wondered if we were going to take one home too. So I explained to her that we already had Dakota & Sage and we didn't have enough room for another puppy. Then Jaidyn wanted to know if Kimmy's puppy will bark as much as Dakota does. No dog is like Dakota. I explained to Jaidyn that Aunt Kimmy will train Porter better than we trained our Dogs!!! It is funny to me that she thinks all dogs are like Dakota & Sage! We are excited to see what a great dog Porter will be and also how big he will get!

Lincoln is 3 Months Old!

Is it just me or is he the cutest kid you ever saw! I can not believe he is already three months old. How does time go by so fast? I can not believe how alert he is. He is laughing so much and really starting to show his personality.
Oh and he so looks like his Dad! Man that makes me mad, I spend nine months doing all this work and 24 hours of labor and the boy looks just like his Daddy! That is so not fair!
He is such a great addition to our family. Everyday I thank my lucky stars that I have two amazing children on earth- oh and a great husband to go with it! I enjoy so much watching Lincoln's face just light up every time Jaidyn talks to him. He lets out these big belly laughs and the biggest smiles I have ever seen.

Lincoln is absolutely the best baby, well besides Jaidyn. He is sleeping very well, which helps a ton! He usually goes down for the night around 8 and doesn't get up till about 5- which is awesome. Although I still never sleep thru the night because I am constantly making sure him & Jaidyn are ok. He actually one day slept until 7:30- which to me is officially sleeping thru the the night! I am very grateful for all of my wonderful blessings!

HUGS Party!

Well the hugs party didn't quite turn out exactly as planned, but it was still great!!!
Of course mother nature changed the way it turned out. The party that was supposed to be over 20 people ended up being 6 people. We had a great time. We played guitar hero, american idol (Michelle can sing-don't let her tell you any different) but mostly we just hung out and visited and really just enjoyed some quality HUGS time!

Kim & Jason came over all the way from Grand Rapids. And we are very glad to have had them drive all the way in the snow. It is so great to be able to spend all of this time with them. Even if Dave & Jason played Guitar Hero most of the time- I had beg to play American Idol!
We really wish all the other HUGS ladies could have joined us!

Spending Some Time in D

Well last weekend we headed to Deadborn, oops I mean Dearborn for Praiser's Birthday!
Praiser turned the big 4-0 so we attempted to go to Slows restaurant for dinner but the wait was so long we ended up eating at Chelis. We met up with about 15 of Praisers friends and had a great time. It was very fun. We had a lot of fun people watching. I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long time. There was a band, which was decent but the funny part was the ladies who thought they were the best dancers in the place! We had a great time hanging with Kimmy, Praiser, Kinger, Flowers and the rest of the gang! We had fun facebooking at the bar! Kinger says I am a facebookaholic, but what does he know! I ran into a couple of people who I went to High School with, which is always fun- but mainly it just made me feel old. Going out just isn't like it used to be- at midnight we were ready to go! So we called my dad and he picked us up! Pretty funny I never thought my dad would be picking us up from the bar, but hey you have to be safe. It was a great night and we really enjoyed ourselves. Happy Birthday Praise!

New Years Eve!

This year New Years Eve was a low key evening with the Shifflett Family. We had a lot of fun. Amy's mom had made us dinner, lasagna and I made a salad and we had some garlic bread. It was very nice. Jaidyn and Abby were so excited it was great. They were very happy to ring in the New Year. For the girls the ball dropped at 9:30 PM!!!

It was very cute to see them so excited and having so much fun! After we got the girls to bed (which took forever) we finally had some adult time. We watched the ball drop, drank champagne and played American Idol on Wii.
It was truly a good time.

2008 was a great year, with the birth of our son Lincoln and Jaidyn changing so much. We met a lot of people and really enjoyed ourselves. We are now looking forward to 2009. This year should be fun and exciting and I am anxious to see what it will bring.
Here's to 2009!
