The Baby Swing & The Airwick Freshener

This is the best story ever! Lincoln's baby swing has been a life saver. Just about everyday he is taking his naps in the swing and he loves it. So it should be no surprise when I tell you the motor on the swing broke. Yes I do think this means my son spends way too much time in his swing!!! So last Thursday while Lincoln was taking his nap the swing just stops. So I called the manufacturer and they wanted $50 for the new part to fix it. Can you believe it $50, well since he is almost to the weight limit I figured I would just have to throw out the swing because I didn't want to spend that kind of money. So Dave gets home from work and he says "well I can fix it" now I must tell you I did not believe he could do it, sure he is a computer wiz but an infant swing fixer I wasn't so sure. SO he does the research and finds out the motor is a cheap $2 part but he can't order from anywhere because all the places have $1000 minimum orders. Yes this is turning into quite the story! SO during his further research he finds out that the same motor is used in an

AIRWICK FRESHOMATIC AIR FRESHENER

Can you believe it? So I look for a coupon online, finda $4 off coupon and send Dave to Walmart where he buys the above product for $8 out the door! $8- ha! take that Fisher Price!
So literaly a half an hour later the swing is fixed! I must tell you Dave at this point thinks he is quite the man! And really at this point I must say I am very impressed. So the moral of the story is really you can fix anything!

The Hair Show!!!

The Salon Bien Hair Show!

What fun! My friend Kari has been doing my hair for about 7 years. She is a wonderful person and an incredible hair Stylist. Kari is the owner of Salon Bien in Flint on Saginaw Road and she runs a great salon. Not only is Kari a good person but she helps out with community charities also. Her latest adventure was the Hair Show where all proceeds went to Child Help.

An organization that helps protect children against neglect and abuse. The show was a lot of fun and for a wonderful cause! Allison Joyce did all the make up, and it turned out great. I really enjoyed a whole day to myself to get all dolled up! I really proud of Kari and everything she has accomplished!

Dora Live!

If there's a place you got to go
I'm the one you need to know
I'm the Map
I'm the Map
I'm the Map
If there's a place you got to get
I can get you there I bet
I'm the Map!

On Wednesday Amy & I took Abby & Jaidyn to see Dora Live. Jaidyn was so excited for the day when I woke her up the morning of the show she said "Happy Dora Day-Mommy!" It was so cute! The girls were absolutely thrilled. It was like taking them to a rock concert for kids! Just watching the looks on their faces was so great!! I really enjoyed spending this quality time with Jaidyn. I loved doing something with just her and I - Our little girls night out! The show itself was actually pretty cute too. When it was over Jaidyn screamed! She was so sad she cried the whole way to the car - saying she wanted to see Dora again! What a great day!

Lincoln is 6 Months Old!!!

I can't believe my little boy is already 6 months old! A whole half a year! WOW! Time sure does fly by quickly! He is so big right now he weights 17 pounds and is 22 inches long. He is such a big boy- he is trying to crawl so bad.

He can sit up on his own but not for very long, I have to be there to catch him!!!!! I enjoy watching him get big but of course it make me very sad also!
At only 6 months old he already has such a great personality. He is a very happy baby that wants to jump around and play all the time- and smile a ton! We are very lucky to have such wonderful kids!!

Easter 2009

Happy Easter 2009!

This Easter was another jam packed holiday weekend! On Saturday we headed out to Grandma & Grandpa Boyles house in Dearborn. Everyone was there! Both of my sisters, my nephews, the puppies!, and of course my kids also. While we were there we had an Easter egg hunt outside, it was great watching Jaidyn run all around the yard to find the eggs. She thought it was so cool to have the quarters that were inside the eggs and one egg even had $10. Which Jaidyn asked me if she could use it to buy new sandals! She is so my daughter!

Sunday morning we got up and the Easter Bunny had left some Easter baskets for the family! Jaidyn had two baskets, Lincoln one and even Dave got an Easter basket. The bunny also hid eggs at our house so Jaidyn had a wonderful time running all around the living room looking for the eggs.

After finding all the eggs and looking through the baskets we headed out to church. After church we went to Grandma & Grandpa Rainneys house for Easter dinner. It was very nice to relax and spend the day with the family. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Happy Easter!

Egg Painting!

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hopping' down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter's on its way!

On Friday we headed over to The Shifflett's house for an Egg painting & pizza party! What a fun night! Jaidyn & Abby were so cute and so excited to paint eggs. They thought it was so cool to use the "magic crayon" and than see what the egg says!

As you can see the girls were not only having fun but concentrating very hard. For me I love to share these moments with my daughter and watching her get so excited. I am so grateful to have these wonderful moments with my kids.

Here comes the Train!!! CHOO! CHOO!!!

Chuga...Chuga....CHOO!!CHOO!!

Jaidyn could hardly wait to for the day we were going on the bunny train. This was Jaidyn's first time on a train and she was so excited to spend it with Caden & Baby Carson. Honestly I think she must have asked me a hundred times if Caden was going to sit by her.

So last Saturday we headed out to Kim & Jason Bolinger's house for the day and than we went to Coopersville to hop on the bunny train!
The train ride was great, very relaxing. It was so cute to watch Jaidyn & Caden just light up looking out the windows, talking to the Easter Bunny, and mostly the train conductor!

It was such a beautiful day to spend with some wonderful friends! I hope that the kids remember these special times for many years to come- because I know I will!
